Fowlston, 82 of Oxford passed away at his home on September 18, 2014. He was born on October 25, 1931 in Oxford a son of the late Leon and Ruth (Hollenbeck) Fowlston. On December 17, 1955 in Aurora, NY he married Esther Stedman, who survives.Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathryn and Robert Lumpkin and Carol Galletti; four grandchildren; his sisters, Jeanette Biermann and Joan Walling; his brother David and Linda Fowlston; and his sisters in law, Alma (Bridget) Fowlston and Betsey Miller.Dick was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1950. He served in the US Air Force from August 1950 until July 1955, 2 years of which were in Okinawa during the Korean War. He was a service technician for Smith-Corona from 1954 until 1973.

He then worked at the Raymond Corporation for 1973 until he retired in 1987. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oxford. He was a Life Member of Fort Hill Post #376, and the American Legion. He joined the Independent Hose Co. Of the Oxford Fire Department in 1950.
